Linked to the new management headquarters of the company AFV Beltrame, a glowing cube set in the surrounding parkland houses the owner’s famous collection of antique books. A suspended walkway connects the administrative offices to the library ramp that, as in the Tower of Babel, runs around the central rooms of the floors where the books are kept. The route set out by the ramp, ideal for displaying antique prints, is interrupted only by large windows, one on each side of the square, that frame views of the surrounding landscape. In daylight, shadows of the trees are cast on the smooth milky surface of the external cladding; at night, the glassy cube is lit up like a lantern in the woods that can also be seen from afar.

 

Collegato alla nuova sede dell’attività direzionale dell’azienda AFV Beltrame, un cubo luminoso incastrato nel terreno del parco ospita la famosa collezione di libri antichi del proprietario. Un passaggio sospeso collega gli uffici amministrativi alla rampa della biblioteca che, come in una torre di babele, si sviluppa attorno alle stanze centrali dei piani che custodiscono i libri. Il percorso della rampa, ideale per l’esposizione delle stampe antiche, è interrotto soltanto dalle ampie finestrature che, una per ogni lato del quadrato, incorniciano il paesaggio circostante. Con la luce, le ombre degli alberi si riflettono sulla la liscia superficie lattea del rivestimento esterno; al buio, il cubo vitreo si illumina come una lanterna nel bosco, visibile anche da lunghe distanze
